Brief History of the Study Program

The Master of Accounting Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University (PS Maksi FEB Unud) was established based on Establishment Decree No. 3538/D/T/2007 dated November 5, 2007, from the Directorate General of Higher Education. The operational permit was issued by the Rector of Udayana University No. 2934/D/T/K-N/2010 dated July 12, 2008. The presence of PS Maksi Unud is expected to address the contemporary demands for expert and professional personnel who are applicative in research and capable of solving managerial problems through an accounting perspective oriented towards improving quality human resources.

Since the opening of PS Maksi Unud at Udayana University until August 9, 2008, all activities of PS Maksi Unud were coordinated by the Technical Operations Implementation Committee based on the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Udayana University No. 18/H.14.1.12/KP/02.23/2007 dated December 1, 2007, with Dr. I Wayan Suartana, SE., M.Si., Ak as Coordinator and assisted by a Secretary, Ni Luh Supadmi, SE., M.Si., Ak. Subsequently, through the Rector's Decree No. 277/H.14/KP/2008 dated August 9, 2008, Dr. I Ketut Budiartha, SE., M.Si., AK was appointed as Chairman and Ni Luh Supadmi, SE., M.Si., Ak as Secretary. To enhance the effectiveness of Educational and Administrative & Financial tasks, based on the proposal from the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Udayana University to the Director of PPs Unud, Dr. I Dewa Nyoman Badera, SE., M.Si was appointed as Vice Head of Education and Ni Made Dwi Ratnadi, SE., M.Si., Ak as Vice Head of Administration & Finance. These Vice Head appointments were based on the Postgraduate Director's Decree No. 770/H14.4/HK/2008 dated September 1, 2008. Subsequently, based on the Rector's Decree No. 284/UN14/KP/2012 dated August 8, 2012, Dr. I Dewa Wirama was appointed as Program Head and Dr. Ida Bagus Putra Astika, SE., M.Si., Ak as Secretary of the Master of Accounting Program. The next management of the Master of Accounting Program was headed by Dr. I Made Sadha Suardikha, SE., M.Si., Ak with Dr. Herkulanus Bambang Suprasto, SE., M.Si., Ak as Secretary through the Rector's Decree No. 390/UN14/KP/2016.

Based on the Decree of the Rector of Udayana University No. 592/UN14/PP.03.01/2016 dated September 20, 2016, regarding the Scope of Study Programs in Monodisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Categories for the Management of Master's and Doctoral Programs, it was established that the Master of Accounting Program falls under the Monodisciplinary category with its management carried out by the Faculty of Economics & Business, Udayana University. This was followed up with a Handover Report dated December 23, 2016, from the Director of the Postgraduate Program of Udayana University to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Business, Udayana University, with acknowledgment from the Rector of Udayana University.

Referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 30 of 2016 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Udayana University, Article 78 states that the implementation of study programs is carried out by the Program Coordinator; which is reinforced in the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 34 of 2017 concerning the Statutes of Udayana University, Article 35 paragraph 2 which states that the organizational structure and work procedures of Udayana University are regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 30 of 2016. Based on this, the subsequent management of the Master of Accounting Study Program was established by the Decree of the Rector of Udayana University No. 130/UN14/HK/2018 concerning the Appointment of the Master of Accounting Study Program Coordinator at the Faculty of Economics & Business for the period 2018 – 2022 dated January 18, 2018, appointing Dr. Drs. Herkulanus Bambang Suprasto, MSi., Ak., CA. as Coordinator of the Master of Accounting Study Program at the Faculty of Economics & Business, Udayana University. Then in November 2021, Ni Putu Sri Harta Mimba Ph.D., MSi., SE., Ak., CA., CMA continued as acting Coordinator of PS Maksi until January 2022 and continued for the 2022-2026 period.

The Master of Accounting (Maksi) Program has been accredited A based on BAN-PT Decision Number: 221/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/VII/2017 dated July 04, 2017, valid until July 04, 2022. Currently, the Maksi program is accredited as Excellent based on BAN-PT decision No. 4121/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/VII/2022 and is valid until July 5, 2027.
